これは書家・黒野清宇(くろのせいう)氏から寄贈された歌碑です。黒野氏の書により、次のような『常縁』の和歌が刻まれています。
古今集伝侍（つたへはべり）し時、宗祇法師につかはしける
身を合せともなふ人の世にもあらばいにしへ今をかたりてよ君
この和歌は、『東家代々和歌』『東家歌道血脈伝』に記されており、『古今和歌集』の仮名序の文言を踏まえながら、「あなたと同じくらい歌道に熱心な人に、『古今伝授』を伝えてください」と、『宗祇』への願いを詠んでいます。

This is a monument that was donated by the calligrapher Seiu Kurono. The following Tsuneyori waka poem has been carved into it using Kuruno's writing.
Conferred to the monk Sōgi when passing on the Kokin Denju
If there is someone in the world
Who thinks the same way
Bring them along
And teach them
Of old and new
This waka poem is recorded in Tōke Daidai Waka (Tō Clan Waka Poetry) and Tōke Kadō Kechimyaku-Den Biography of the Tō Family Poetry Blood Line. It is inspired by the Kana Preface of the Kokin Wakashū. It calls on Sōgi to pass on the Kokin Denju to someone with as much enthusiasm for poetry as Sōgi.
